Version 3.2.0 was released on Tuesday 30th November 2010.
- This version sees the introduction of multi-language support in XpressDox (for the ribbon-based versions of Word, i.e. 2007 and 2010). This applies to the Interview and other user-facing components, but not to template author tools such as the Command Editor and Configuration user interfaces. In addition, bi-(or multi-)lingualism can be accommodated in that a template producing a document in one language can have its Interview constructed for use by users of other languages. The web site has details of how to achieve this. The languages are English (US), English (UK), French and Afrikaans. Further languages will be introduced with future versions.
- External XML data with elements in different namespaces are now handled correctly.
- The system-generated data source search dialog will now present the data in “pages” so that with very large data sources, instead of the user being forced to provide a filter before seeing any data, they will be presented with the first “page” of data (by default 200 rows). The dialog now includes navigation buttons in order to scroll through large data sources.
- It is now possible for VBA programmers to write macros in Word which can be defined as data sources to XpressDox. A sample is provided in the My Documents\XpressDox\Samples\MacroAsDataSourceSample.dot file. The configuration is achieved by using the normal New Data Source wizard (in the Configuration dialog), which now has an option for specifying this feature.
